Feilding Civic Centre has a proud history as a place for the community to come together.
Built in the mid-1950s, the Civic Centre was made possible through significant community support. A Queen Carnival raised £26,000 towards the cost of the building, with local volunteers also contributing labour during its construction.
Owned by Manawatū District Council, the Civic Centre has served Feilding and the wider district for more than 70 years. The Trust will continue operating the facility until 20 December 2026, with Council assuming operational responsibility from 21 December 2026. You can read more about this change on Council's website.
For many years, the Feilding Civic Centre Trust managed and operated the facility on behalf of the community, supporting its use as a home for sport, performances, events and community activities.
Over the years, the Civic Centre has hosted generations of sporting activities, performances, markets, exhibitions, celebrations and community gatherings.
Today, its Stadium, Concert Chamber and Cedar Room continue to provide flexible spaces for community groups, clubs, performers, organisations and event organisers.
The Civic Centre remains an important community facility, continuing the tradition established when the community came together to help build it in the 1950s.
